He changed his mind about teaching Tao he wants tao to fallow his dreams.This shows that Greybeard cares about what people want to do with his/her life.

An important theme in this novel is that people should follow their dreams and do what they believe is right, even if they don't follow their society's expected ways.

Today there is a morbidly obeast man who is about 375lb and wants to be a flight attendant.He applied for the job and was denied.I don't think he should do it either because he would only embarrass himself.

I am not so suprised Greybeard is furious Tao because Greybeard strongly agrees with the laws of the clan.I agree with Greybeard because he understands that you have to go by the laws or you might be killed.What Greybeard said was true then but partly true now.

Tao's mother is an intelligent and caring person.She fought and fought to keep Tao. Again and again they tried to take you away ,but she fought like a cave lion, screaming, biting,refusing to give you up.Vedra made many bracelets and necklaces and gave them away freely.
She loved seeing the joy in peoples faces when she gave away her
